TERMS & PRIVACY

Terms & privacy

The rules for using PRIVATE TABLE and what happens to your information. Kept short on purpose.

About these terms

PRIVATE TABLE (Private Table by Ascent) is run by Ascent, a sole proprietorship in Japan. By using the site you agree to these terms. They are written to stand on their own; if you read the Japanese page and something differs, tell us and we will fix both.

Play money only

There is no real money anywhere in this service. No deposits, no withdrawals, no purchases, no prizes, no rake, no fee. Chips are points that exist only inside a table and have no monetary value; they cannot be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for anything. PRIVATE TABLE is not a gambling service, and you may not use it as one: wagering real money, goods or anything of value on its games, with anyone, is prohibited.

Age

You must be at least 13 to use the site. The game is simulated gambling: if you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you play.

What you may not do

We may close a table or refuse a connection to protect the service or other players.

Table talk

Lines you send at the table are shown, with your display name, to the people at that table at that moment. They are relayed, not stored: there is no history on the server, so we cannot read a line back later, and neither can anyone else.

Hand history (optional)

A table keeps a hand history only if the person who made it turned on the option to reveal all hole cards after the game. It is off by default, and you can see the setting before you join.

That history holds display names, stacks, actions and their timing, the board, the results and every player's hole cards, including folded ones. After the game, anyone who had a seat at that table can download it. It is deleted from our servers with the table; a downloaded copy is the downloader's responsibility. Ask the other players before you pass it on.

Privacy

No account. There is nothing to sign up for. We never ask for an email address, a phone number or payment details. Your display name and anything you type at the table are seen by the people at that table.

What a table holds. To run the game and let you return to your seat, a table stores display names, its settings, its code and PIN, the data used to confirm each seat, the cards, stacks, actions and results, and when it was last used. Each table lives on our servers and is deleted, with everything in it, 24 hours after it was last used.

On your device. Your browser keeps the details needed to return you to your seat (the table, the seat and a seat token) and your preferences: sound, music, the draw hints, how chips are displayed, the hole-card effect and, if you set it, the opt-out from our player count. Your choice of language is not saved. Clearing the browser's site data removes all of it. We set no cookies.

What we count. We count how many people played each day and for how long. The count keys on a hash of your IP address and browser identifier with a salt that changes every day, so the same phone cannot be followed from one day to the next. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us page views and load times without cookies and without storing IP addresses. That is the extent of it: no advertising identifiers, no profiles.

Who processes it. The site and the tables run on Cloudflare, which acts as our processor; connecting sends your IP address and connection details to Cloudflare, which uses them to limit abuse and keeps them in operational logs for a limited time. Cloudflare operates in the United States, the EU and elsewhere.

Your rights. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in running and measuring a free service. No consent banner is required because we set no cookies, do no cross-site tracking and store nothing for advertising: what your browser keeps is only what running the game needs and the settings you chose yourself. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of under the CCPA. Since we hold no account, the way to exercise a right is to contact us with the table code and the time you played; most data is gone on its own within 24 hours.

Third parties. We do not sell your information and do not give it to advertisers or data brokers.

Credits

No warranty

The service is free and provided as is. It may change, pause or end without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted play or that a table will not be lost. To the extent the law allows, Ascent is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service.

Intellectual property

The software, screen design, text, images, sounds, animations and the PRIVATE TABLE name belong to Ascent. Do not copy, modify, redistribute or republish them, or reuse them in an imitation of the service, without permission. The materials listed under Credits are under their own licences.

Governing law, changes, contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. We may update them, for example if ads or paid features are ever added to a version of the site; the date below changes when we do. Questions, requests about your information and copyright notices (DMCA or otherwise) go to info@ascent-web.jp.
