HOW TO PLAY WITH FRIENDS

Poker night on your phones, in four steps

PRIVATE TABLE is a Texas Hold'em table for 2 to 6 friends that runs in the browser. Nothing to install, no account, and iPhone, Android and laptops all sit at the same table.

It is free. No paid plan, no in-app purchases, and no real money — ever.

One of you makes the table

On the home page, tap Create a table, pick a display name and the table settings. The lobby shows a six-letter code and a 4-digit PIN. Those two are the invitation.

Send the code to your group chat

Tap Share in the lobby. Your phone's share sheet opens; pick WhatsApp, iMessage, Discord or wherever your friends are, and send. In a browser without a share sheet the invite is copied instead, so paste it into the chat.

The invite carries the link, the code and the PIN. Send the PIN along with the link — the link fills in the code, but the PIN is what lets a friend through the door.

Everyone opens the link and joins

Each friend opens the link, types the 4-digit PIN and a display name, and takes a seat. The code is already filled in when they come from the link.

The host deals

Two players are enough to start. Wait for everyone who is coming — once the host taps Start, the table is closed to new players. Up to six seats. Phones, tablets and computers can all be at the same table.

It is a short sit-and-go: same stack for everyone, the blinds go up on a schedule, last one standing wins. With the standard settings a game is about 20 hands.

Rusty on the rules? That's fine

It's Texas Hold'em: two cards in your hand, five on the board, the best five of the seven count. The table shows your current hand next to your cards and settles every pot for you.

Check the hand rankings and the tie-break examples whenever you need them.

Want to see the table before you invite anyone? Try a hand vs. bots seats you against three computer players. No code, no PIN.

Table talk

During the game, the speech-bubble button sends a line that floats across everyone's table: one of six quick lines, or up to 20 characters of your own, once every 2 seconds. It fades after a few seconds and is never stored. Players who have busted out can still heckle from the rail.
